Giving From the Heart, Cat Lady Style

The One World One Heart blog event will end in just a few days and 874 giveaways will end with prizes going to lucky winners all over the world. Of the hundreds of blogs I have visited, the best giveaway I've seen so far is the one offered by Cat Lady Heather on her blog Heather's Eden and is a true example of the spirit of "One World One Heart".

Heather is an active participant in Kiva, which allows everyday folks to make micro-loans to entrepreneurs around the world to give them a shot at bettering their own lives. You loan as little as $25 to an individual that you select, who uses that money to expand their businesses or begin a new business. Heather is currently loaning money to a woman selling cosmetics in Bolivia, a Bolivian man trying to fix up his home, a woman who sells in the food market in South Sudan and an electrician in Ecuador.

For Heather's OWOH giveaway, she will buy a $25 virtual gift card to Kiva for the winner to loan out to help someone else. To enter this generous giveaway, visit Heather's OWOH blog post before February 17.

Thanks for visiting!

Adventures In Blogland

It's not too late to join in the fun of the One World One Heart blog event. Tomorrow is the last day to enter your blog as a participant, but you have until Feb. 17 to visit all of the blogs and enter for a chance to win any of the hundreds of giveaways. For details, visit this link: OWOH

In the mean time, I am working my way through a list of over 800 participating blogs from around the world and "meeting" an amazing array of creative, funny, talented bloggers, many of whom happen to be Cat Ladies!

One such participant is the bewitching Cat Lady Wendy who writes an enchanting blog "The Year Of The Cats" that often centers around her two cats Bella and Sele.

"I have always had at
LEAST one cat in my life and one time I had six. I am owned by two incredibly 'indulged' cats. Miss Bella, who is all black with a white diamond patch on her chest, cool, searing green eyes and a very diva like personality. Her sister and litter-mate, Sele is a complete opposite of Bella. She’s a tuxedo cat and all she wants to do is play, snuggle, eat and sleep. In that order.

"Why do I love cats so much? It’s their magic and mystery. For ages cats have been connected to the moon and I love the otherworldly side of cats that have taught me about intuition, magic and the feminine Goddess. ...So, I decided I need to write this blog because of my love of cats, all cats and to explore, share and learn more about magic."

Some of the OWOH blogs require that you be an active blog writer to participate in their giveaway, however, mine is open to blog readers too (that means everybody!) . I have THREE giveaway packages this year, so hurry on over to this post and enter for a chance to win, if you haven't already. Thanks for visiting!

One World One Heart 2011!

Warm greetings to new friends
and old pals from around the world! Welcome to my little corner of the blogosphere. I hope you enjoy your visit.

I am delighted to be participating in the One World One Heart event once again...for those who are new to the event, it is an international "open house" involving hundreds of different bloggers from around the world, each offering a special giveaway that ends on February 17.

My name is Susan Faye and I share my home in the Pacific Northwest with my cat Buttonwillow and a room full of really great art supplies. I adore art, cats, handcrafts, Mother Nature, chocolate, gardening, and of course, blogging! My goal is to put a smile on your face with my creative endeavors.

This year I will be offering THREE different door prizes as follows:

Prize Package No. 1

Bunny Delight: A Rhonda Rabbit Bookmark (sorry--beloved antique book not included), a set of 6 little gift cards (blank inside, each measures 3-3/4" x 2-1/8"), and a Rhonda Rabbit Lavender Dream Pillow (9" tall), filled with lavender to give you the sweetest dreams... all made with love by me!

Prize Package No. 2

Wearable Art! This prize package features a pendant and earring set for cat lovers...I've taken mini prints of my artwork and preserved them under crystal-clear glass, then made them into a sparkling pendant and pair of dangle earrings on sterling silver earwires. A 24" silvertone petite ball chain will be included.

Prize No. 3:

A $30 gift certificate for my Etsy shop . The winner will be able to choose from jewelry, art prints, catnip toys, lavender sachets and other handcrafted gifts.

Blog writers and blog readers alike may enter and I will ship prizes to anywhere in the world. To enter, please leave a short comment at the end of this post (one entry per person, please). Giveaway ends on Thursday, February 17 at 6:00 P.M. Pacific Standard Time. Each entrant will be assigned a number, and the winning number for each prize will be selected using a random number generator.

Please make sure that I have a way to contact you if
you are the winner, such as a link to your blog or e-mail address included in the comment. Winner will also be announced in a blog post on the evening of February 17th.

Also, if you encounter trouble with the Comments feature, please contact me by e-mail with the word "OWOH" subject line, and I will add your entry to the list (without your email info). You'll find an e-mail link at http://www.SusanFaye.net
