Cat Lady No. 31...Pastels and Peachy Keen

Cat Lady Johanna is just crazy for pearls, pastels, and Peachy Keen, her ginger-peach-orange-marmalade tabby cat.

Johanna and Peachy are city girls and a bit pampered, but Peachy sometimes longs for just one sunny afternoon of frolicking through wind-blown wild grasses where flitting and skittering things might be lurking.

Her favorite blog is written by The Ginger Darlings, Elm
o, Maurice, and Pixie--three lucky ginger cats who live in the countryside of St. Davids, Pembrokeshire, Wales. You can enjoy their cat tales here: wethreecats.blogspot.com.

They have fabulous adventures and then sleep a lot. Their Cat Lady has been busy illustrating what looks to be a fabulous story book and you can find out more here: Starlight, Starbright

Thanks for visiting!

Johanna and Peachy Keen can be found on a variety of Valentine postcards (pictured), note cards, postcards, t-shirts and other gifts at: www.cafepress.com/SusanFaye

Cat Lady No. 30...Phantom Cat

Carlotta the Cat Lady of Larkspur Lane is shown here enjoying a chance visit from Mystery Cat Phantom. This snowy white cat can often be seen roaming the village at night and is most visible during a full moon.

As fate would have it, Carlotta loves to tell ghost stories, and Phantom often scratches at her back door at the stroke of midnight, hoping for a bowl of warm cream and a frightfully good story.

Tonight's story is about D.C. (short for Demon Cat), a mysterious cat that haunts Capitol Hill. As legend has it, D.C. emerges from the shadows, its creepy eyes glowing, any time a national disaster is looming; for example, sightings were reported before the stock market crash of 1929.

Carlotta and Phantom hope that nice Mr. President Obama steers clear of this character. He already has enough scary things to deal with!

Cat Lady No. 29...Queen of Cupcakes

Cat Mom and Gourmet Cupcake Baker Stacie has one husband, a golden Retriever, four spoiled rotten kitties, and is the proprietor of Sugar Dreams Bakery. Her cat story spans 8 years:

“Yep, all my children have paws, and I happily call them my furbabies!

“The oldest is Orie and my mom and I adopted him two days before Christmas in 2000... We had just lost my father to cancer only nine days earlier, and we needed to have some fluffy comfort at an extremely hard time in our lives--Orie more than filled that need.

"Orie was picked because he was the only one of two black kittens who had a paper collar on, and he was majorly interested in my fingers. This paper collar identified the kitten as 'Venus“, a female kitten. At this point in my career as a kitty mom, I had no idea how to detect whether a kitten was male or female (I definitely do now!), so I believed them until my vet told me otherwise. So, Venus became Orion because I wanted to keep his name as close to astrological as possible.

"Harley is my second oldest cat at seven years of age. Harley was adopted from the same humane society that Orie was, and his name came from being behind a Harley Davidson when we were on the way home with the little bundle of fluff. Harley is a man-lover! He flirts, purrs, and rubs on any male that enters our home (mostly ignoring the females). Yep, Harley loves me, but he loves his guys!

"Leah (either two or three years old) was adopted from a humane society that rescued cats from kill shelters. She is one of the strangest cats I've ever had! She is obsessed with the ice maker in the fridge...whenever we get water from it, she has to be RIGHT THERE to see and play with the water that may or may not drip from the faucet. She also lays across a hole on one of our cat trees that allows for her belly to hang below whilst the rest of her is happily lying above...she'll lay like that for hours!

"Harrison is my baby (currently ten months old), and the most spoiled cat in the household. He was adopted from a specialty no-kill cat shelter. When I adopted Harrison (they had named him Harry...blech), I was looking for a kitty that would be all lovey dovey yet playful since my other guys were either too lazy, didn't like to be a lap cat, or were just plain bored with the idea of chasing a tinkling ball around. Harrison filled this void so well! He's extremely playful, loves to lay with you (or on you), has a motor that you can hear in the next room, and is a raging mass of fur!

"So, there's a little bit about my lovely kitties. They have brought me countless moments of happy memories, and I hold every one of them in a special place in my heart. "

Stacie's scrumptious baked goods are available by mail order and she is currently having a Cookie Sale! Don't miss out:

Cat Lady No. 28...Flower Power

A former 60s Flower Child, Cat Lady Veronique still believes in Flower Power to this day. She and Mom Cat Violetta are introducing little Chaton Chauncy to the beauty of purple asters for the very first time today.

Veronique particularly enjoys her groovy greenhouse where she sits in her lawn chair each morning to enjoy her chamomile tea with honey and experience Peace, Love and Serenity amidst the glorious blooms, usually with a cat or two on her lap. It's her favorite kind of Sit-In!

Cat Lady No. 27...Cat Waltzing Society

Cat Lady Rhonda and dance partner Mr. Jeepers are great fans of the latest rage at the ballroom: Cat Waltzing. Like other enthusiasts, they simply cannot resist sashaying around the living room in 3/4 time whenever they hear the opening chords of a waltz.

Mr Jeepers' favorite waltz tune is The Waltzing Cat by Leroy Anderson. Many people don't know that there are lyrics to this waltz, written in 1950 by Mitchell Parish:

There once was a tomcat, a wonderful tomcat,
who had all the usual faults,
But this cat was different, what made him so different
was his inclination to waltz.
Each night this feline Sir to his lady fair would purr:
(CHORUS)
I love to waltz (meow)
On a night like this with stars in the skies,
Come, let us waltz (meow)
While I look into your lovely green eyes.
I never knew what a little waltz could do,
Till the night I danced with you,
Lightly as a feather, let us pussy foot together,
I'd love to spend (meow) all my nine lives just waltzing with you.

Cat Lady No. 26...Well-Groomed

Feline Fanatic April and her handsome Himalayan Rochester hope to win Best of Show in the regional Cat Show this weekend.

Rochester loves to be groomed, which is a good thing, because April faithfully brushes and combs his thick and silky fur each and every day, wearing her personal Cat Grooming Apron pictured below. Rochester is less enthusiastic about the weekly baths, but enjoys being fluffed up with the warm hair dryer at the end.

April is inspired by her favorite domestic goddess Martha who owns seven Himalayan cats named after composers. ''They are friendly and affectionate but not demanding; they are quiet and easy to care for; and they get along well with people and other animals,'' Ms. Stewart wrote about her cats in the ''Ask Martha'' section of her Martha Stewart Living magazine in February 1999.

April would love to have that many Himalayan cats, but only if she too had a personal grooming sta
ff. Rochester thinks that one Himalayan is more than enough for any household...

The purr-fect Cat Grooming Apron comes with your choice of over 100 different cat ladies. Ties at neck and waist. Two center-stitched bottom compartment pouches for keeping tools handy. 35% Cotton / 65% polyester blend, twill fabric. Machine washable and guaranteed.

Cat Lady No. 25...Cloud Watching

Cat Lady Michelle enjoys watching clouds float by with her best friend Boots by her side. She can recite all of the different kinds to him:

Cumulus Congestus, Swelling Cumulus, Cumulus of Fairweather, Cirrostratus, Altostratus, Stratus, Cirrocumulus, Stratocumulus, Cirrus, Cumulonimbus, and Nimbostratus. Boots enjoys hearing the names roll off of her tongue and they always make her laugh.

If you would like to see pictures of these clouds, plus more information, visit Michelle's favorite website: Cloudman.com

Boots has a purrsonal favorite: the Lenticular cloud, a type of Altocumulus formation that looks just like an alien space ship!

Michelle and Boots can be found on a variety of apparel perfect for cloud watching at: www.cafepress.com/SusanFaye.
