Perennial Favorites (Chomp, Chomp)

Illustration Friday
Theme: perennial

copyright 2011 Susan Faye

Apparently Bob the Cat (the stripey one, pictured above) has a thing for
perennials.

Cat Lady Karen explains: "
My kitties Zoe and Bob are both rescue cats. Certainly if this were a real picture, those flowers would be little green stumps because Bob would have eaten them all before the flash went off."

Hey, a guy's gotta make sure he gets plenty of fiber somehow, doesn't he?

Does your furry loved one have a thing for greenery? Please share in the comments section at the end of the post.

The custom portrait of Zoe and Bob was drawn with pen and ink, then hand-painted on super-heavy Arches 300-lb. acid-free cold-press watercolor paper with professional quality watercolor and gouache paints.

Thanks for visiting!

Chapters loves flowers, leaves and foliage or any sort - and the resulting tip over of the vase and water all over the table, I suspect. Last weekend, when I brought a bunch of dill weed home from the market, he nibbled all the little end flowers off. But, of course, for whatever reason, he doesn't care for catnip. :0)

What a cute name for a cat! Dill weed is a new one--I've never heard of a cat eating that before...

Lovely illustration!
At our old house a brush tail possum and her baby would eat all of my geranium flowers, just the flowers not the stems. Took me ages to work out what it was and once I did, I didn't stop them, geranium flowers must be a possum delicacy

I just have to say that this cheered me up the minute I looked at it.

It's the sneaky woodchuck that loves our perennials. My indoor cat, who's not much of a plant eater, just gazes placidly through the screen of the porch, and does nothing to help scare him away.

Love the expression of those cats, they are happy with their lives for sure!

My older sister would get a rose from an admirer and put it in a vase safe on top of the piano to keep it out of danger from our rowdiness or inquisitive natures. Cat ate the ferns in the vase down to skeletons. Didnt' seem to care for the rose though. Enjoyed your image.
