Back To School Giveaway

Have you noticed? Fashion-correct Cat Ladies have retired their white shoes and handbags, fluttering leaves are changing their hues, and the school crossing signs are blinking once again. That can only mean one thing: it's time to introduce my new back-to-school-inspired pendants and have a GIVEAWAY!

Inspired by cat-loving teachers, librarians, students, and book club buddies, these designs celebrate the love of books and reading!

A mini print of my artwork has been preserved under crystal-clear glass, then hand-crafted into a sparkling pendant. The rectangle glass tile is 7/8-inch wide and 1-1/4 inches tall and features a silvertone bail. Here is your chance to win one:

Just leave a comment at the end of the post and mention the name of your favorite teacher, librarian, student, or bibliophile and your name will be entered into a random drawing! Giveaway ends Friday, Sept 17 at 10 p.m. PST. One name will be drawn at random and will receive their choice of one of these pendants, including a 24" silvertone petite ball chain. Open to book lovers and feline fanatics world-wide!

Please make sure that I have a way to contact you in case you are the lucky winner, such as a link to your blog or e-mail address included in your comment.

Also, if you encounter trouble with the Comments feature, please contact me by e-mail --you'll find a link under my Profile.

Thanks for participating!

The 10 new pendants pictured are now available for sale at my online Etsy shop. Just click on an image to find out more information about that item!

My favorite teacher NOW is a dear friend who has taught kindergarten children for 30 years and loves it as much now as when she started. She is Ellen DisBennett. And she's also a "crazy cat lady" with 5 furry friends. As a child, I adored my third grade teacher, Grace Smith, and can still recall many of the things learned in her class.

So many cute pendants!

I was so lucky to win one of your prints so please don't include me in your draw so that someone else can win ~ but I did want to tell you about my favourite teacher.

She was actually my son's grade 4 teacher, Mrs. Lake. In Kindergarten, Grade 1, Grade 2 and Grade 3 my son's teachers always said "he talks too much'. Mrs. Lake did not make the same comment in our first parent teacher conference. I asked her "Does Kurtis talk too much or have trouble settling down?" She said, "No, I let him say what he wants to say and then he buckles down and gets his work done."

Thank you Mrs. Lake for being the first teacher to actually just listen to what a young person has to say instead of giving them heck for talking 'too much'!

Have a terrific week Susan Faye!

Each week the mobile library comes to my neighborhood. My favorite librarian is Herr Schulz who is so very patient to order English books for me all the time. :)

Happy reading,
Birgit

My friend Sue Tabor is a grammar school teacher in the Sacramento area, loves cats, and does TNR during her spare time. She has helped save literally thousands of cats, both feral and domestic. I would LOVE to win a gift for her. She would be thrilled.

My favorite teacher was Mr. Baddour, 8th grade English. He's the one who got me into writing, the first person who ever told me I had any writing talent. I think of him often, and recently sent him a letter to let him know what he meant to me all those years ago...over 25 now...sheesh. It's never too late to tell someone how you feel.

Also, have to say I almost cried when I saw the pendant with the black and white cat, the redhead with the braid. Kinda reminds me of my Yahoo, who loved to sit on my shoulder. I lost the little fella this past March, and I will never get over it. If I don't win one of these, I will definitely be aiming the hubs to your site so he knows where to get my Christmas present.

I love your work and my favorite is the black quality time kitty.
I have to say my favorite all time librarian is my former boss Anne Morris. She just retired last year after having worked for 44 years at the Toledo Museum of Art library. And my favorite teacher is my third grade teacher Mr. Greene, even though at the time(late 60's)was an older person he still kept up with all the tecnology of the time and I learned alot in his class.
You can reach me at either JVozobule@aol.com or JVozobule@toledomuseum.org.
Thank you so much.
